Salt Lake County Democratic Party Calls for the Immediate and Unconditional Resignation of Senator Gene Davis
The Salt Lake County Democratic Party, following procedures laid out in our Anti-Harassment Policy and Procedure, has concluded an investigation into a complaint issued against Senator Gene Davis on August 4, 2022. The Salt Lake County Democratic Party Judicial Committee conducted a thorough investigation into the complaint and issued the following recommendation to the Executive Committee on September 8, 2022:
The Judicial Standing Committee unanimously voted on September 8, 2022 to find the accused, Senator Gene Davis, violated the Party’s Anti-Harassment Policy. The Judicial Standing Committee unanimously voted to refer the Judicial Standing Committee’s recommendation to the Executive Committee and recommended the following disciplinary actions:

Call for the immediate and unconditional resignation of Senator Gene Davis.

Suspend Gene Davis from all official SLCo Democratic Party events for 2 years*.

Suspend Senator Davis from party support for 2 years*.
The Executive Committee took up the Judicial Committee’s recommendation at their regularly scheduled meeting on September 12th where they voted unanimously to approve the Judicial Committee’s recommendations. Per the Party’s Anti-Harassment Policy and Procedure, the Executive Committee informed the complainant and the accused of their decision, beginning a 14 day period wherein the decision could be appealed. That period is now over, and no appeal was filed. Whereas Article II Sec B.11 of the Anti-Harassment Policy and Procedure states that if the recommendation is approved, the recommendation must be implemented.
THEREFORE, the Salt Lake County Democratic Party hereby:
Calls for the immediate and unconditional resignation of Senator Gene Davis,
Suspends Gene Davis from all official SLCo Democratic Party events for 2 years, and
Suspends Senator Davis from party support for 2 years.
