Salt Lake County Democratic Party Chair
The Salt Lake County Democratic Party will hold a special election for the position of Chair on November 22 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former chair Jade Velazquez who stepped down to accept the role of Executive Director with the Utah Democratic Party.

To file as a candidate for Salt Lake County Democratic Party Chair in the special election to be held on Saturday, November 22nd at our Q4 Central Committee meeting, please read all of Article II in the County Party Constitution (Salt Lake County Democratic Party Constitution) to understand the roles and responsibilities of this position and what is required to be Chair of the County Party and a member of our Executive Committee.
The candidate elected as the next Salt Lake County Democratic Party Chair will serve from November 22nd 2025 through our 2027 Organizing Convention. The Salt Lake County Democratic Party Chair heads our Executive Committee which meets twice a month on the first and 3rd Monday of the month to create and execute strategy for the Party, host Caucus Night, plan annual conventions, coordinate fundraisers, provide candidate support, etc.
Filing for this position opens at 12:00PM on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 and will close at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 8th 2025. Candidates will then have two weeks to campaign to the Salt Lake County Democratic Party Central Committee. Candidates who have submitted their filing for candidacy will be listed below after eligibility requirements have been verified.
