What is Caucus Night?
A Neighborhood Caucus meeting is a local gathering to elect new Precinct Officers and Delegates to local county parties. Click here to learn more. We are also holding Delegate/Caucus Night Trainings every Wednesday evening in different locations across the County where you can come ask questions and learn how to serve as a Delegate. Sign up for Delegate Training on our Mobilize.
What is a Precinct Officer?
Precinct Officers are the grassroots organizers in the Democratic Party. Each precinct has an opening for a Chair and Vice-Chair. Together, Precinct Officers work to organize their neighborhoods. The Salt Lake County Democratic Party provides training and tools to help you organize your neighborhood along the way so you always have support. Precinct Chairs and Vice-Chairs also serve on the County Party Central Committee, which is the governing body of the County Party between conventions.
What is a Delegate?
Delegates constitute the governing body of the Democratic Party at conventions. Delegates select the Democratic nominee at convention for partisan offices and elect Democratic Party leadership.
Not sure if you want to be a delegate, or have questions? Sign up for one of our Party Delegate Trainings.
Can't attend Caucus Night?
If you aren't sure you'll be able to attend in person, you can fill out a virtual nomination form here and state your intent for becoming a delegate. You will then be considered for election during your precinct elections at Caucus Night and if elected will be notified.
How can I Volunteer?
Each Caucus Night is a team effort. If you are available to help at your 2026 Caucus Night please fill out this form.
Need Accommodations?
We want to do everything reasonable to make Caucus Night as accessible as possible for everyone. Fill out this form to make an accommodations request.
