2026 Nominating Convention




 

What is a Salt Lake County Party Nominating Convention? 

Our Nominating Convention is where members of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party gather together to discuss party business and elect our Democratic nominees for partisan public office.

 

We will also have meetings for our many issue and identity caucuses where you can learn about and join them and a training for people interested in running for local office. 

 

Convention Agenda:

​8:00 AM - Registration Opens
8:15 AM - 10:30 AM - Caucus Meeting Blocks
10:30 AM - Central Committee Meeting
11:30 AM - Lunch with Food Trucks
12:00 PM - Convention Call To Order
1:00 PM - Vote on Uncontested Candidates
1:30 PM - Vote on Contested Salt Lake County Races begins
1:40 PM - House District and Senate District Breakout Rooms for Contested Races
2:00 PM - Voting on Contested State House and State Senate Races Begins

2:15 Congressional Candidate Speeches Begin

3:00 PM Announcement of Election Results and Adjournment
