What is Caucus Night?

A Neighborhood Caucus meeting is a local gathering to elect new Precinct Officers and Delegates to local county parties. Click here to learn more.

What is a Precinct Officer?

Precinct Officers are the grassroots organizers in the Democratic Party. Each precinct has an opening for a Chair and Vice-Chair. Together, Precinct Officers work to organize their neighborhoods. The Salt Lake County Democratic Party provides training and tools to help you organize your neighborhood along the way so you always have support. Precinct Chairs and Vice-Chairs also serve on the County Party Central Committee, which is the governing body of the County Party between conventions.

What is a Delegate?

Delegates constitute the governing body of the Democratic Party at conventions. Delegates select the Democratic nominee at convention for partisan offices and elect Democratic Party leadership.

Can't attend Caucus Night?

If you aren't sure you'll be able to attend in person, you can fill out a caucus night attendee form here and state your intent for becoming a delegate.

How can I get involved?

We appreciate help from anyone who is serious about promoting Democratic principles! Start by filling out this form. You can also email your House District Chair and get involved at a local level.

Need Accommodations?

We want to do everything reasonable to make Caucus Night as accessible as possible for everyone. Fill out this form to make an accommodations request.
