HD 36 Special Election
The Democratic candidate for HD 36 withdrew their name from the race and we have a chance to elect a replacement.
We are opening filing for this special election starting today and running through 12:00pm Friday, July 3rd 2026. The special election will then be held on Saturday, July 18th at 2:00pm at our office at 825 N 300 W c400, and virtually over Zoom
Registered Democrats who are at least 25 years old and meet residency requirements in House District 36 are allowed to file to be our replacement candidate by filling out the form below.
Qualified candidates will be asked to provide a bio and photo which will be emailed out to HD 36 Central Committee Members and put on this page.
All Central Committee members who live in State House 36 will be eligible to vote in this election and the election will be held via ranked choice voting.
The elected replacement for this seat will then be on the ballot in the November General Election as the Democratic candidate for Utah State House 36.
