The Salt Lake Tribune recently published a letter from Monica Hilding, Utah Environmental Caucus Chair, about the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) proposing “project areas” in wetlands surrounding the Great Salt Lake, from Brigham City to Spanish Fork and how building in these areas further threatens the future of this vital lake.
As taxpayers and Democrats, we should expect greater accountability from legislators and agree that a recommended follow-up audit of UIPA should be ordered by the legislative audit committee immediately.
