First Vice Chair Candidates

My name is David Rodgers, and I am excited to be running to fill the vacancy for 1st Vice Chair of the Salt Lake County Democratic Party.

Between growing up in West Valley City and then moving to Murray, I am proud to have strong roots here in Salt Lake County. I have always valued my community and want to do everything I can to make it the best place possible.

I previously served as the House District Chair for District 35. In that role, I hosted two caucus nights and made connections with other leaders across the county. I was also able to help re-elect former Representative Mark Wheatley and elect Representative Rosalba Dominguez in one of the most competitive State House districts in Utah.

I was elected to serve as the Treasurer of the County Party at the 2025 Convention. While in this role we have passed the 2026 budget, exceeded our fundraising goals for 2025, and managed a balanced 2025 budget. I am so appreciative of the opportunity I’ve had to serve, and am looking forward to continued success for our party.

I’m passionate about bringing my experience as both a former House District Chair and the current Treasurer to the 1st Vice Chair position. I will continue to work across Salt Lake County to make sure our leadership teams feel supported and informed. We need to be prepared to handle the incredible energy that is growing for 2026, and use that to elect Democrats all over Salt Lake County.
