Treasurer Candidates

Alyx Pattison was born and raised in Magna (west side pride!) and though she grew up in a political household, she really caught the activism bug while studying political science at the University of Utah. After graduating, she moved to Evanston, IL to work on Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's 1997 campaign for Congress as her Deputy Finance Director, then stayed on as her Finance Director where she led the Congresswoman’s fundraising efforts. Alyx followed Congresswoman Schakowsky to Capitol Hill in DC where she worked as a legislative aide and then attended law school at Northwestern University in Chicago.

 

After becoming a lawyer, she stayed in Chicago, practiced law, and volunteered on dozens of campaigns where she learned the art of grassroots political organizing. Alyx has raised millions for Democratic candidates and Democratic Party organizations and is ready to roll up her sleeves and put those skills to work for Salt Lake County Democrats. Her number one goal as treasurer would be to expand the County Party’s donor base so we have the resources to be competitive up and down the ballot and in every region of our County. Alyx is thrilled to be back in Utah and living on the west side, 10 minutes from where she grew up. Now in West Jordan, she currently serves as the Chair of HD 38 and Secretary of the Salt Lake County Democratic Women’s Caucus.

 

Fun fact: Alyx loves hiking and is very happy to be at home again in Utah so she can hit a trail whenever she has spare time. Win or lose, if anybody wants to start a “Democrats who hike” group, she’d be thrilled to find some new hiking buddies!

With a career built on meticulous asset management and professional precision, Deidra is ready to ensure our party’s financial foundation is transparent, secure, and mission-ready! Deidra’s commitment to Utah politics is proven. In 2024, she stepped into the arena as a Candidate for State Senate in District 29, gaining firsthand insight into the vital resources candidates need to win. She currently serves
as the Secretary for House District 25, where she maintains the organizational integrity of local Democratic efforts. As a member of the Women’s Democratic Club of Utah, and a current student in the Women’s Leadership Institute’s Political Development Series, she is constantly
refining the leadership skills necessary to manage party resources at the executive level.

Professionally, Deidra brings “Command Presence” to her work. As a Security Lead at the Delta Center, she manages high-stakes asset protection and public safety. Her background as an HR Professional further equips her with the auditing and compliance expertise required for the role
of Treasurer. A graduate of Oklahoma State University’s Ferguson College of Agriculture, Deidra applies a rigorous analytical work ethic to everything she does!
